Levels Club, Sukhumvit 11, Bangkok
Levels Club Review - What to Expect
Levels Club & Lounge, Bangkok is on the 6th floor of the Aloft Hotel, Sukhumvit Soi 11. Opened in July 2012, Levels club has quickly established itself in the Bangkok nightlife scene as one of the best clubs in Bangkok with their impressive line up of international and local DJs which have, over time, included Laidback Luke, EDM DJ Jay Hardway, Markus Schulz, Sander van Doorn, Gareth Emery, Fedde Le Grand, Riva Starr, Boy George and American house music pioneer Todd Terry, to name just a few.
With such big names playing at Levels Club, Sukhumvit 11 they do occasionally they charge an entry fee, but it’s usually free to get inside. They don’t operate a specific dress code although people do seem to make an effort to get dressed up when heading to Levels to enjoy a night out.
Levels Club & Lounge also run regular promotion nights, for example, on Wednesdays, groups of five or more get a free bottle of vodka. Thursdays is ladies night with three free drinks coupons for all ladies arriving before midnight and on Friday nights they tend to have events which rotate around themes like Burlesque and Playboy - probably to encourage visits from beautiful women dressed in sexy, stylish outfits! To find out about the current promotions at Levels Bangkok, it’s best to visit their website or official Facebook page.
Levels Club attracts revellers in the Bangkok nightlife scene largely because of the variety and choice the venue offers via it’s 4 distinct party zones which all offer very different atmospheres.
The main club area is a huge lounge-like space with impressive high ceilings, focusing on commercial Hip Hop and dance music. Also, within the main club area there is a mezzanine VIP area with a capacity of up to 80 people where you can buy a bottle and claim your space for the night.
If going with the main crowd isn’t your thing then the second club area is a laser drenched, somewhat darker space, which is accessed via a tunnel-like walkway, and features bass heavy EDM music and progressive house.
The other area worth highlighting is the open air, terraced cocktail bar which is perfect for a quick drink when you need some air or want to take a break from the crazy fun inside.
One thing that didn’t seem so prevalent at Levels was the common approach in the Thailand nightlife scene of buying a bottle of spirits, some mixers and ice. It seemed that in such a large space, and with so much to explore, people preferred to float around and socialise - similar to how night clubs are in Europe and the US.
All in all with their international DJ lineup, 1000 sqm floor area, opulent high ceilings, fun charged atmosphere and impressive decor - including the circular bar in the centre of the main club room which glows purple and is dominated by a huge chandelier that gives the impression of falling rain - Levels Club & Lounge in Sukhumvit Soi 11 is undoubtedly one of the best nightclubs in Bangkok and is well worth visiting next time you’re in Bangkok and looking to have some fun clubbing.
