Royal Cremation On Oct 26 Declared As Public Holiday
The royal cremation for the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej will take place on Thursday, Oct 26, 2017, which has been declared a public holiday by the Thai government to allow mourners to attend the ceremony. The ceremony is scheduled to last five days between Oct. 25 – 29, with the cremation taking place on Oct 26.
Prime Minister Gen. Prayuth Chan-ocha has submitted a letter to the Office of His Majesty’s Principal Private Secretary about setting up portraits of HM the late King across the country and abroad throughout November, so that all Thais can pay pay respect and remember their beloved monarch.
According to the office, the matters have been granted royal approval by King Maha Vajiralongkorn, according to National News Bureau of Thailand.
